Tell Congress: Invest in Our Elections

In recent years, bad actors have threatened, stalked, and even tried to harm poll workers and other election officials just by doing their jobs. Elections offices don’t have the personnel or equipment to stay safe.

This can’t continue. Congressional leadership must step up and provide the funding needed to keep election workers safe and ensure everyone can exercise their freedom to vote. In two clicks, send a pre-written email urging them to earmark $75 million for election support.

Our local election officials need much-needed stability as they tackle a range of challenges in preparing for the upcoming elections. This funding is necessary to provide for essential election resources at the local level, such as physical and cyber security systems, reliable and updated voting equipment, and adequate office space and personnel to properly administer elections. Many local election offices are struggling to provide for even the basics, lacking reliable internet access or storage space for election equipment. We can’t let this continue.

Given these pressing needs, I am writing to request your support in securing the full $75 million for election infrastructure recommended by the Senate Appropriation Committee for Fiscal Year 2024. This additional funding will enable local election officials to make substantial progress in fortifying our election systems—ensuring that they remain resilient, secure, and accessible to all voters.

I understand that there are varied and competing demands on federal resources; however, investing in our election infrastructure is an investment in the foundation of our democracy. By providing adequate funding, we can continue to foster voter confidence, uphold the integrity of our electoral process, and guarantee that every citizen's voice is heard.
